Not a normal process for an Indonesian coffee, this washed process Gayo delivers a clean and complex cup.
Situated in the northern part of Sumatra, Aceh is home to some of Indonesia's finest coffee. This particular lot comes from the cooperative founded and run by Asman Arianto “Ribang Gayo Musara Cooperative”. The group of over 350 farmers that sell cherry to this cooperative benefit in multiple ways partnering with the organisation. They generally get a higher cherry price per Kg, receive profit sharing for lots that end up being of a higher quality and are part of the educational and information sharing program. Over the last 5 years coffee production has doubled at the coop meaning they can invest in better equipment and increase capacity and quality at the same time.
This is an all-round beautiful coffee, but just shines as a filter.
