Art exhibits and sales
Pablo & Rusty’s stores are proud to exhibit a broad range of rotating artworks in the stores. We’ve showcased a variety of mediums including photography, sculptures, charcoals and canvas. Exhibits run for several weeks before being rotated to another store, giving artists a chance to showcase their work to several audiences. During this time, artworks are available for sale. Please ask staff for more information.
The works can be viewed on our flickr site towards the end of the exhibition.

Music nights
The Gordon and Epping stores host live music nights through out the year. We’ve tasted an array of genres over the years – from folk and rock to lyrical-beat-poetry-spoken word. We’ve recently partnered with The Gate to co-host the events with great success. We’ll keep you posted with any new events.
Our goal is to support & promote local musical talent by offering our space as an intimate venue. We welcome all our customers, music followers and the local community to be part of these events.
If your interested in playing at Pablo & Rusty’s, please email Matt our Artistic Director at matt@pabloandrustys.com.au and he’ll be in touch.
Charity Partners
In addition to supporting the local artistic community, Pablo and Rusty’s work alongside a number of charity partners that we hope to support long term. Our business along with our patrons and staff through tips, support a number of different causes.
Each month, we focus on one of our main charity partners, listed below. One hundred percent of all tips collected during that month are distributed to the focus partner sometimes in aid of specific projects. Specific stores may also periodically raise funds for a charity in their local area. We support a range of charities in recognition that one organisation cannot do it all. Each partner has a specific focus that we believe is worth getting behind.
Drinking coffee is a privilege. If we can afford a coffee, we can probably spare some loose change. Here is some information on the causes we feel are worth supporting.
Hope Kids

This organisation works with kids in the highlands in PNG. This is where we first sent our tips and where we realised the impact of this kind of giving. With ongoing support from customers we have increased the number of children that we sponsor and continue supporting five orphans that were left with nothing until the team at Hope Kids believed in them. Our support is currently providing ongoing sponsorship of these five children – providing food, clothing and books for school.
CrossRoads Hong Kong
If you have ever felt like the needs of the world are just too massive to contemplate addressing, then supporting Crossroads will fill you with hope.
The Crossroads Foundation connects people in need with people who can help via four global crossroads –
Crossroads Global Distribution is a non-profit corporation which takes Hong Kong's quality superseded goods and redistributes them to people in need, locally and internationally.
Global Hand is a matching service: a non-profit brokerage facilitating public/private partnership. Although today’s world sees many parties wishing to respond to global issues, the problem they often face is connectivity. Global Hand links for-profit and not-for-profit to combat global need.
Global Handicrafts trading fairly traded goods from around the world, online and in-store in Hong Kong.
Crossroads’ Global Village offers a themed, immersive environment where people can experience global need first hand.
Pablo & Rusty’s hosted an Art exhibition in 2010 and raised money through a silent auction.
Crossroads Central Asia
Based in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, Crossroads Central Asia (CCA) is the Central Asian arm of Crossroads Global Distribution. They receive goods from Hong Kong and also from local donors, corporate and private, which they distribute to places in need within Central Asia.
Pablo & Rusty’s has hosted information evenings for CCA, has raised funds (thanks tips!) to fund a shipment of goods to recipients in need, and most recently has been providing assistance to the team at CCA café set up for locals studying English to meet with English speakers and build community.
Opportunity International Australia

Opportunity International Australia exists to provide opportunities for people living in poverty to transform their lives. With over 40 years' experience in microfinance and support services, they use a sustainable approach to solve poverty. Rather than a hand-out, they provide their clients with a loan as small as $100 to help grow their small business. This enables people to earn an income and afford food, water, shelter and an education for their children.
One such client is Ana, who, at nine months pregnant, was scavenging for food and scraps on a garbage dump. Thanks to a small loan, Ana has a new business and a new future for her family. Watch her story here.
Rising Generations
Rising Generations is a not-for-profit organisation established to equip young people with dynamic leadership capabilities. They are based close to our Gordon store and we love all the work they do.
Pablo & Rusty’s also supports charities and aid group on an ad-hoc basis, such as our recent Japan appeal where we raised over $2,000 to go towards the relief efforts still underway.
